Day 5: April 11, 2012

Day 5                                                                                                    Written Apr 11, 2012 10:33am
Today Dallas went into the sedation room. This was difficult for all of us, as he was being put under anesthesia again. He had a deep cleaning and debriedment done to remove dead skin and to see if there were new skin buds growing.

During treatment in the sedation room, Dallas had to have a central line put in due to the fact that his peripheral lines collapsed and the IVs wouldn't take. The central line hinders his ability to walk, so the physical therapist is worried about the possible set back of this; however, in his next surgery, which will be Monday, they may be able to relocate the line, or even put in new peripheral IVs.

After coming out of the sedation room, Dallas was very lethargic and in quite a bit of pain, but he was still very optimistic and continued to inspire us all.

Monday Dallas will be going into surgery for the start of his skin grafts. The surgeons are going to graft the very worst areas and debried the rest to find out if skin buds will grow and if further surgery will be needed. As of now, the surgeons believe this will be one of many grafting surgeries.

Please keep this beautiful little boy in your prayers.
